CHILDREN AND WORSHIP

Children of all ages are welcome to join us in worship!  We have a Children’s Message near the beginning of every worship service.  And we also provide children’s bulletins and supplies to engage their interest and help them make the most of their time in worship.

SUNDAY SCHOOL AND NURSERY

Desert Hills also has Sunday School and Nursery, held during worship.  Both start about fifteen minutes into the worship service (right after the Children’s Message at 10:15), and run until 11:15 when we meet for refreshments after worship.

Our two Sunday School teachers are mature believers, well qualified to teach about Jesus.  Both have children and grandchildren, as well as advanced degrees in related fields, and one works as a teacher in the local school district.

FAMILY ACTIVITIES

Desert Hills is a family-friendly church!  All fellowship events have something for kids and families to nurture faith and love. Here are some of our upcoming activities in 2013:

  • February 10th after church, kids will enjoy games in our playground
  • March 31st after Easter worship, we provide an Easter Egg Hunt
  • On July 4th, we’ll have ice cream while watching fireworks.  The kids will also be doing pastel chalk paintings

And that’s not all: There’s a new group for families at Desert Hills called ‘FamilyUp.’  Seth and Jennifer Bryant, one of our new families, will be hosting FamilyUp Adventure Trips.  Everyone in the local community is invited to attend.  The first Adventure Trip will be held Sunday March 3rd.  We’ll be going on a hike to Barker Dam in Joshua Tree National Park. Meet at Desert Hills at 11am, and bring a picnic lunch.  We’ll see ancient rock writing and Pastor Wayne will lead some bouldering for the whole family.  For more info, visit www.facebook.com/groups/DesertHillsFamilyUp or  www.meetup.com/FamilyUp .
